The city hosts the VI edition of "Croquetando por Torrevieja" (Croqueting around Torrevieja)one of the most eagerly awaited gastronomic events in the local calendar, which will be held from 11 to 17 May with the participation of 16 establishments.
The event has been presented in the CdT of Torrevieja together with the previous competition. "Croquetas al Gusto" (Croquettes to Taste)where the locals have shown their most creative proposals.
Organised by the Association of Hospitality Businesses of Torrevieja and Region and sponsored by Roldán Netya, the initiative will allow you to taste gourmet croquettes accompanied by drink for 3,50 euro.
A consolidated gastronomic event
The president of the AEHTC, José Ignacio Pastor, highlighted the high level of the proposals:
"Every year the establishments excel themselves with more elaborate and surprising recipes, a reflection of the talent of the local catering sector".
For her part, the councillor for Tourism and Catering, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, underlined the evolution of the event:
"In just six years it has established itself as an unmissable event on the gastronomic calendar".
Alicia Arenas Mercader also took part, reaffirming the institutional support for the sector and for initiatives such as this one within the framework of the L'Exquisit Mediterrani.
Croquettes route: creativity and flavour
Throughout the week, locals and visitors can enjoy innovative proposals such as:
- Iberian croquette
- Shrimp and coconut
- Oxtail
- Cauldron
- Mellow cheek cheek
- Zamburiña with sea aioli
- Chicken piña colada style
- Portobello and gorgonzola
Among many other dishes that combine tradition and the avant-garde.

Prizes and public participation
Winners of the "Croquetas al Gusto" competition will be announced on 19 Maywith prizes of up to 1,000 eurostrophies and product vouchers.
In addition, the public will be able to participate in prize draws via QR codes available in the establishments.
An event for everyone
"Croqueteando por Torrevieja" is consolidated as a key gastronomic proposal to invigorate the local hospitality industry and attract both residents and tourists, reinforcing the image of the city as a culinary destination.
