One more year and thirty-nine, the hospitality industry of Torrevieja and region lived last night the celebration of his brotherhood dinner, which brought together nearly three hundred people in the Bahía Costa rooms. Before giving way to the gastronomic delights offered by José Antonio Vilella and his daughter, Sonia, proceeded to the formal act of the awards ceremony which was conducted as in previous years by the TVT journalist, Antonio Aniorte. It was the president of the host organization, the Association of Hospitality Businessmen of Torrevieja and Region, José Antonio Lozano, who opened the event by making a balance based on the latest statistics in which he said he has lived one of the worst years for the hospitality industry in which many businesses have closed. However, he said that in the last few months there has been a revival that everyone has to take advantage of by offering the customer the best of themselves for the development of the hotel and catering industry, the city of Torrevieja and the region. Lozano said that the hoteliers of Torrevieja are a big family, being the "engine of the local economy" and will remain so "regardless of who weighs" - He also assured that while he is president "will not allow anyone or anything, use the hospitality of the city and the region for private interests that are not those of the activity itself," referring veiled to the latest actions of the local police imposing penalties on establishments that have platforms. He commented that after the latest reform of the Statutes of the Entity, which set the term of office of a Board of Directors at three years and a maximum of two consecutive terms in office, the deadline for the presentation of candidatures for the next elections was opened, which will be held in a period not exceeding two months and for which he confirmed that he will stand for re-election. The Mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón Sánchez, then took the floor and highlighted the work carried out by the Association, although he said that there is still "a step" to reach the highest recognition, which will come from the hand of SICTED (Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination) certified by Tour España, by the Ministry of Tourism. The presentation day will be held on the 9th April at the CDT, with the presence of the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Daniel Marco, who will take the opportunity to invite everyone to attend. Dolon said that both the City Council and the Provincial Council are doing an unprecedented work of tourism promotion in all the International Tourism Fairs, expecting this season to be more than ten million tourists arriving at Alicante Airport. Tourists who are looking for, apart from good gastronomy, a quality that can very well be guaranteed by the "Tourespaña" brand. Dolón highlighted the unity of the hotel and catering industry, which he described as a big family, and encouraged them to continue along the lines of an annual calendar of activities that is being developed with great satisfaction on the part of the public, who support these culinary events with their presence. Finally, he congratulated all the award winners and encouraged them to leave the name of Torrevieja at the top. The event, along with the aforementioned Mayor and President of the AHTC, was attended by the provincial deputy of Tourism, Joaquín Albaladejo, the Councillor for Hospitality and Tourism, Luis María Pizana, the Councillor for Commerce, Agustina Esteve and the entire Board of the host Association, composed of Luis M.
