GASTRONOMIC DEMONSTRATION (SHOW COOKING) OF A TYPICAL TORREVEJENSE "CALDERO".
The Hotel and Catering Association presents the "Arroces de Torrevieja" (Rice from Torrevieja), from 4 to 10 March, in which 25 restaurants in the town will take part.
TORREVIEJA (31-01-13). One of Torrevieja's typical dishes has been featured today at FITUR by the Association of Hotel and Catering Businesses of Torrevieja and Region. The restaurateur Tomás Arenas, from the restaurant Las Jarras of La Mata, has carried out a gastronomic demonstration (show-cooking) He prepared an exceptional arroz de caldero, which was later tasted by the numerous people who attentively followed the elaboration process carried out by this master rice cook.
Also, the councilman of Commerce and Hospitality, Agustina Esteve, the mayor of Tourism, Luis Maria Pizana, and the president of the Association of Hospitality Businesses of Torrevieja and Region, José Antonio Lozano, presented at FITUR a gastronomic conference called "Rice Torrevieja, where for a whole week, from 4 to 10 March, a total of 25 restaurants in the city will offer for 22'50 euros per person, a menu that will have rice as the main dish, and will include at least two starters, rice, dessert and drinks. The event also saw the presentation of the product logo called "Torrevieja Gastronomic", which offers the same design line as the existing one for the Department of Tourism but with a differentiating touch due to its theming.
