‘Let’s Go for Tapas!’ 2026 in Torrevieja opens registration for participating venues
The Association of Hospitality Businesses of Torrevieja and the Surrounding Area (AEHTC) is open from today until Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 5.00 pm the registration deadline for taking part in the 3rd Competition and 13th edition of ¡Nos Vamos de Tapas! 2026, one of the main culinary events in Torrevieja and the surrounding area.
The initiative will once again bring together participating hospitality venues for a culinary event that will combine tradition, innovation and the promotion of local cuisine.
3rd Tapas Competition: 29 October
The 3rd Tapas Competition will be held on Thursday 29 October 2026, at 10.00 am, in the Torrevieja CdT.
During the competition, a panel of judges will taste and assess the tapas submitted by the participating establishments.
Subsequently, the activity Let’s Go for Tapas! 2026 It will take place over two weekends:
- From 5 to 8 November 2026.
- From 12 to 15 November 2026.
The tapas will be available to sample at participating venues during the dates set for the campaign.
How to register for ¡Nos Vamos de Tapas! 2026
Interested establishments must complete their registration by sending the required documentation by email to correo@aehtc.net before the 5.00 pm on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
The necessary documentation is:
- Registration form duly completed.
- Landscape-format photographs of the four covers which will be on offer during the event.
Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Types of tapas
Each participating establishment may choose which option it wishes to offer:
- 4 traditional tapas.
- 4 innovative tapas.
- A combination of traditional and innovative tapas.
The entries submitted must strictly comply with the specifications and definitions set out in the rules for each category.
The organisers and the judging panel reserve the right to reject any entries that do not comply with the terms and conditions or that do not fit the concept of traditional tapa or innovative tapa as set out in the call for applications.

Awards from the 3rd Tapas Competition
The competition will feature two main categories and prizes:
Best Innovative Tapa
1,000 euros plus the influence of the owner or manager of the establishment on the range of beers available at the Mahou-San Miguel Group.
Best Traditional Tapa
1,000 euros plus the influence of the owner or manager of the establishment on the range of beers available at the Mahou-San Miguel Group.
Furthermore, amongst all the participating establishments that are present at the winners’ announcement ceremonywhich will be held on 17 November 2026 at the CdT in Torreviejaa trip will be raffled off.
Sponsor’s terms and conditions: Mahou
Participating partner establishments must comply with the conditions set by the sponsor MAHOU.
During the course of Let’s Go for Tapas! 2026, all participating establishments must offer half-pints of beer from the sponsoring brand.
The goods will be supplied by the brand’s official distributor in Torrevieja, Vera Mañogil Hnos., and a mandatory minimum purchase of 15 boxes.
The special offer for participating establishments will consist of:
- 12 crates of Mahou Cinco Estrellas Quinto.
- 3 crates of Quinto Mahou Rubia 0.0.
- Each box contains 30 units.
- The total price for the 15 boxes is 325.83 euros, including VAT.
The amount must be paid to the sponsoring company MAHOU before Tuesday 27 October 2026, the deadline set prior to the competition taking place.
Failure to comply with this condition, including failure to pay within the specified time limit, will result in the automatic disqualification of the establishment, both in the competition and in their participation in the ‘¡Nos Vamos de Tapas!’ event
Furthermore, MAHOU will not accept the return of any boxes of product that have not been used during the campaign. Therefore, any surplus boxes they may not be returned and shall not entitle the holder to any refund or compensation.

The AEHTC recommends that you read the rules carefully before completing your registration, particularly the conditions relating to the requirements that the tapas must meet in order to be entered in the categories of Traditional and Innovative, as well as the obligations set out by the sponsor.
The association encourages all its member establishments to take part in this year’s edition of Let’s go for some tapas!, an initiative that has established itself as one of the leading gastronomic events in Torrevieja and its surrounding area.
