The jury of "Croquetas al Gusto" in Torrevieja 2026 is already known.
The Association of Hotel and Catering Businesses of Torrevieja and Region (AEHTC) has officially presented the jury of the competition "Croquetas al Gusto" (Croquettes to Taste)one of the main events of the 6th edition of the "Croquetando por Torrevieja" (Croqueting around Torrevieja).
The event will be held on tuesday 5 may 2026from 10:30 to 13:00 hours, in the CdT of Torrevieja. The competition will involve associated establishments competing with a single croquette proposal - traditional, creative or signature - always made using traditional methods.
In addition to the competition, all the croquettes will be part of the gastronomic route that will be held from 11 to 17 MayThe public can taste the creations on the premises.
A jury with gastronomic experience
The jury will be made up of prominent profiles from the institutional, educational and culinary spheres, who will evaluate aspects such as flavour, presentation and originality.
Jury composition:
- President: Rosario Martínez Chazarra, Councillor for Hospitality and Tourism of the Torrevieja Town Hall
- Secretary: Alicia Arenas Mercader, Director of the Torrevieja CdT
- Representative of the sponsor Roldan Netya: César Culiañez Amorós
Invited members
The jury is completed by two professionals who provide a technical and creative vision:
Jorge Amores
He currently runs the Hotel Meridional, where he leads two gastronomic concepts: The Gardenfocusing on Mediterranean product-based cuisine, and Ñam Restauranta creative proposal with tasting menus.
He has been trained at international benchmarks such as Martín Berasategui, Ricard Camarena, Disfrutar and Central (Lima).
Benjamín Aguilar
Pastry chef with over 14 years' experience, specialising in technique and creativity. Trained alongside José Manuel Marcos Candela and with studies in Barcelona, he stands out for fusing tradition and innovation in his creations.
A week to enjoy the croquette in Torrevieja
From 11 to 17 MayCroquetando por Torrevieja" will take all the proposals to the public in a gastronomic route through the participating establishments.
The initiative will also have a participatory aspect:
customers will be able to access raffles and prizes via QR codesincluding:
- Vouchers for consumption at participating venues
- Travel cards
- Lots of products of the sponsor Roldan Netya
- Other surprises
Boosting local hospitality talent
With this sixth edition, the AEHTC reaffirms its commitment to the hospitality sector, promoting quality, creativity and the visibility of local professionals.
The event thus consolidates itself as an attractive gastronomic proposal for both residents and visitors to Torrevieja.
