The three award-winning restaurants in Torrevieja have been the most active in the Vega Baja region in promoting the consumption of Denomination of Origin wines from the province of Alicante.
The councillor of Commerce and Hospitality of the City Council of Torrevieja, Agustina Esteve, together with the president of the Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of Torrevieja and Region, José Antonio Lozano, have delivered this morning the diplomas on behalf of the Designation of Origin Wines of Alicante to three restaurants in Torrevieja, which have participated throughout the past year 2012 in their premises in promoting the consumption and lifestyle of wines of Designation of Origin of the province of Alicante "Winecanting Promotion 2012".
Agustina Esteve emphasised that of all the Vega Baja region, the restaurants in the city of Torrevieja were the most active and participative in this promotional activity. The Torrevieja restaurants awarded with this diploma were: Marisquería Torrevieja, Rincón de Capi's and El Mesón de la Costa.
The mayor of Commerce and Hospitality has publicly congratulated the Designation of Origin of Alicante wines for conducting an active campaign to promote the quality and variety of the wines of the province, including wines made with grapes from the traditional vineyards of the Natural Park of the Lagunas de Torrevieja and La Mata.
Agustina Esteve has pointed out that her Department will continue to support joint events that promote the knowledge of the general public and the consumer in particular, of wines that are very close and familiar to achieve a high quality. He has also encouraged any establishment in the city of Torrevieja that wishes to incorporate Alicante Designation of Origin wines, to contact the offices of this entity and they will provide them with all the contacts they need.
