The Makro Tapas Competition brings together participants in the 10th International Tapas Day in Torrevieja
The Torrevieja Training Centre (CdT) hosted the competition on Thursday between the participating schools in the 10th edition of International Tapas Day in Torrevieja, a food festival to be held this Saturday, 26 September.
The 11 participating venues will present a total of 22 culinary experiences, of which 11 will be Tapas Makro, made with the tuna as a compulsory ingredient, provided by Makro, the event’s official supplier.
The entries were judged by a panel comprising Alicia Arenas, director of the CdT; José Carlos Ruiz, manager of Makro’s Elche branch; and Rosa María Cañón Rodríguez, Councillor responsible for Public Health, Prevention, Health Promotion and Consumer Affairs.
Cañón highlighted the hospitality association’s involvement and its commitment to incorporating products such as tuna — which is associated with a balanced and healthy diet — into attractive and creative culinary offerings.
The two highest-rated shops will receive a shopping trolley from Makro worth 400 euros for the first prize and another for 300 euros for the second round. The winners will be announced next Monday.
This Saturday, visitors will be able to enjoy the 22 events on offer as part of International Tapas Day, organised by 3,50 euro, starter and drink.
