- The Association of Hotel and Catering Businesses of Torrevieja and Region (AEHTC) has presented in the CdT of Torrevieja the II "Nos Vamos de Tapas" CompetitionThe event highlights the talent, creativity and innovation of local establishments.
With the sponsorship of Mahou, this initiative reinforces the role of Torrevieja's gastronomy as a tourist and cultural engine of the municipality. A total of 19 partner premises compete in the categories of Best Traditional Tapa y Best Innovative Tapaoffering proposals that combine local products, modern techniques and Mediterranean essence.
The jury, made up of professionals from the gastronomic and business world, assesses the dishes that define the culinary identity of the Vega Baja:
- Rosario Martínez, Councillor for Catering and Tourism.
- Alicia Arenas, director of the Torrevieja CdT.
- Jorge Jurado, chef and owner of the restaurants Celeste and Don Carlos.
- Salvador Payá Sanchís, of the Mahou Group.
- Gemma Cruz, deputy manager of AGAMED.
The winners will be announced on 18 November at the CdTwith the prize-giving ceremony scheduled to take place on 20 November at Bodegas Vera.

After the competition, the eagerly awaited tapas route to be held over two weekends: from 6 to 9 and 13 to 16 November 2024. During these days, the public will be able to taste the participating tapas accompanied by a drink for just 4 euros.
The proposal combines tradition, innovation and a festive atmosphere with raffles and prizes among the attendeesThe event will encourage the participation and promotion of the local hospitality sector.
The 19 participating establishments offer a unique gastronomic experience in Torrevieja: Jax Torrevieja, Bianco Sea Emotion, Restaurante Luz de Mar, Güest Restaurante Gastrobar, Restaurante La Diba, La Cantina Food & Drinks, Mat's Burger, Restaurante Catalina, Bar Po Rom Pom Pom, Casa Luchy Restaurante, HB Torrevieja, Luna Creciente Gastrobar, Mesón El Huertano, El Floridita, Queens Grill, Martinis, El Rincón, El Chiringuito La Mar de Bien and La Mar de Bien.
"Nos Vamos de Tapas" (Let's go for Tapas) consolidates its role as one of the most popular gastronomic events in Torrevieja, promoting local cuisine, creativity and gastronomic tourism.
