Businesses of Torrevieja and Region (AEHTC)<\/strong>&nbsp;have publicly expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the&nbsp;<strong>Torrevieja Local Police<\/strong>&nbsp;for the professionalism, composure and firmness shown during the operations carried out in response to the recent disturbances relating to the&nbsp;<strong>illegal street trading along the city\u2019s seafront promenade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both organisations believe that the work carried out by police officers deserves the support of society, particularly given the complexity of operations that require them to act responsibly, proportionately and in full compliance with the law, even in highly tense situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Upholding security, social harmony and the rule of law<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>APYMECO and the AEHTC highlight the commitment of the Torrevieja Local Police to upholding the public interest, public safety, harmonious coexistence and compliance with the rules that guarantee equal rights and obligations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business organisations consider it essential that public authorities continue to support measures aimed at preserving a model of city life based on respect for the law, harmonious coexistence and the protection of the local business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Illegal sales are damaging Torrevieja\u2019s retail and hospitality sectors<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Illegal sales represent, according to both organisations, a serious blow to local businesses and the hospitality sector, as it constitutes a form of unfair competition against the hundreds of small businesses and self-employed individuals who operate legally, create stable employment, fulfil their tax obligations and contribute to the economic and social development of Torrevieja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For APYMECO and the AEHTC, ensuring that all economic operators compete under the same rules is an essential prerequisite for maintaining a fair, competitive and sustainable economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Support for officers in situations of tension and violence<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>APYMECO and the AEHTC have also expressed their support for the officers who, whilst carrying out their duties, have had to deal with stressful situations and even incidents of violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both organisations point out that no public servant should be intimidated or attacked for fulfilling their legal duty to maintain organisations emphasise that the vast majority of residents, visitors and business owners want a&nbsp;<strong>A safe, well-organised Torrevieja that respects the law<\/strong>, where economic activity can take place on a level playing field and with full safeguards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, APYMECO and the AEHTC reaffirm their commitment to a modern, safe and high-quality Torrevieja, and express their full willingness to continue working alongside the authorities and the police and security forces to defend the interests of the retail and hospitality sectors and the general
